The iPad

The frenzy stirred by the iPad gadget is comparable to that produced by launching iPhone terminal in 200. The iPad tablet launching had the effect desired by Apple: in the first day there were sold 300 000 units, which means it was a success even bigger than that registered by iPhone, which was bought in the first day by 270 000 enthusiasts. The analysts think that Apple has sold a lot more than the official numbers. They add that there would have been considerably more buyers if Apple hadn’t chosen to deliver only the variant with possibility of connecting to Internet through Wi-Fi, the version which incorporates space for 3G data SIM, arriving on the market a bit later.

Clearly, what is impressive about it, at first sight, is the display. Apple really didn’t joke around when saying that the iPad screen is going to be wonderful. It is not just about an extra screen which allowed the developers to create applications that are easier to use, but it also has sensational colors, and the visualization angle is almost 180 degrees. At the end of the first shopping day, it was clear for everybody that the screen dimension makes all the difference, in comparison with an IPod Touch, the first device that impressed with its multi touch screen.

The second impressive aspect is its big speed which web pages can be browsed with, passing from landscape mode to portrait takes just a second and, in general, applications can be tactile maneuvered very easily and they open extremely quickly. The wonderful iPhone experience is completed with a larger, more beautiful and comfortable screen.

What is iPad good for?

In a word: Games. Users can download games from the iTunes App Store. Because of its very large screen, players’ enthusiasm will be a lot bigger than when they were using iPhone. Through iTunes you can download video or audio clips, but also entire films. The reading email application is far more developed than that integrated in the iPhone, it is the one available in the Mac OSX operating system and it is called simply “Mail”. Through application iBooks, the user has access to millions of books – the price for each volume is between $9.99 and $14.99.

Shortly after, complaints appeared. After just one day from release, people affirmed that iPad doesn’t succeed in connecting to Wi-Fi network or that its signal is very weak. The explanation could be that the Wi-Fi antenna is located at the back of the Apple logo and is very small. Also, the customer’s first contact with the wanted gadget, including children crazy about video chat, were already complaining that the iPad has no video camera; this, besides the fact that there is no possibility of USB connection. But as long as there is no perfection in this world, the iPad itself has not been created to solve all people’s problems. It is definitely revolutionary and should be appreciated for that.
